DALLAS MAN SENTENCED TO NEARLY 18 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON, Defendant Was a Major Supplier to a Methamphetamine Distribution DALLAS — Guillermo Quinones-Retana, 25, was sentenced this morning in federal court by U.S. District Judge David C. Godbey to 212 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, announced James T. Jacks, acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas. Guillermo Quinones-Retana, a/k/a “Juan Ortega Diaz,” “Gerardo Martinez,” “Andres Solano-Reyes,” “Ormigita” and “Memo,” pled guilty in November 2008 to knowingly and willfully participating in a conspiracy, from January 2006 until mid-July 2008 when he was arrested, to distributing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. Quinones-Retana, who lived and operated in Dallas, was a major supplier to a methamphetamine distribution organization in the “Little Laos” area of North Fort Worth, known as the Hernandez Drug Trafficking Organization. The investigation determined that Quinones-Retana was responsible for trafficking more than 70 kilograms of methamphetamine. The Hernandez Drug Trafficking Organization was made up of Ruben Hernandez, Vongsamay “Fro” Pathammavong, Alex Prashasouk, and Ratsamy “Low” Luangrash. All four members were indicted and pled guilty to their role in the methamphetamine distribution conspiracy, and have been sentenced. Hernandez is currently serving a 290-month federal sentence for his role in the conspiracy. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay DeWald prosecuted the case. ### |
